First off, my vote for 7th player award is Daniel Paille. Every other player has been as advertised in this shortened season, but Paille has been playing above his typical level, jumping from 4th to 1st linen on occasion. Easily the fastest guy on the team, still unable to finish about 80% of the time, yet I feel he's the one deserving of the award. The masses will probably opt for Dougie Hamilton (probably next year's winner), but I'm telling you, Paille deserves it this year.

The Pandolfo era has to end, and may end soon with the return of Chris Kelly in a few days. He's just too slow out there, he is calcified.

Has Peverley lost it, or just bad luck/bad linemates? Him & Kells were stuck with the Chris Bourque Experience for the first 15-18 games of the season and it's really put both of them far behind where they should be. Heard in the stands the other day, calling him "Neverley" as in, never gonna score. See, I'm convinced that half the team is just waiting around for the playoffs before they really start playing. So we're seeing average play from Ference, Seidenberg, Peverley, Lootch, Horton, Kelly for now, but I really hope they wake up in the playoffs.

That John Scott fight Thornton lost a few months ago seems to have really affected his game. I suspect he's come to realize that maybe it's just not worth it anymore...more selective in his opponents, not banging anymore.

Anyone else notice about 10% more jam to Krejci's game the past few weeks? Did someone steal his lunch from the fridge during morning skate?

Yep, you notice a huge dropoff in hockey acumen and overall writing skills between what is generally posted here and our twitter account. I don't run the twitter account, that's why the Vf311 tweets are a helluva lot better than the posts here on this blog.

It's gonna take a little bit of time to adjust to Jagr being on the ice for the Bruins. I just remember him torching us when he was with the Penguins in the early 90s. Who else from the early 90s Penguins can we get to help with our Cup run? First Recchi, now Jagr...

Lootch's counter-hit on Emelin's run at him was just classic.

Seriously, this Bruins team hasn't even peaked yet, and that's the best hope I have for the playoffs.

Chia could trade for $12M in salary tomorrow and still be under the cap without giving up any current assets (or using LTIR status on Savvy). In other words the cap is not an issue for this year. The real issue comes next year. The Bruins have all key players signed except for Horton, Ference, Tuukka, and Khudobin, but they only have a little more than $11M to fill these gaps including the LTIR for Savvy.

So judging by this and judging by Chia's history of wanting to keep the team together, he will not want to trade for any pieces with commitments beyond this season. So here's a list of some players with expiring contracts on teams that may find themselves out of it:

-Jarome Iginla (CGY) - production is down so far, but he would help in so many ways
-Michael Ryder (DAL) - re-unite him with Kelly/Pevs for the occasional glove save at a key point
-Lubomir Visnovsky (NYI) - want nothing to do with him
-Mike Ribeiro (WAS) - charter member of Les Habitantes diving squad in early 2000's
-Jaromir Jagr (DAL) - mulletude
-Milan Hejduk (COL) - still got some skills in those old legs and is veteran of cup team
-Ron Hainsey (WPG) - solid player
-Nik Antropov (WPG) - lotta unknowns with this guy
-Robyn Regehr (BUF) - great guy for a playoff run
-Derek Roy (DAL) - too soft for my liking
-Ryan Whitney (EDM) - healthy scratch lately and enough is enough bringing local folks back

Guys with expiring contracts on teams that probably won't sell:
-Ryane Clowe (SJS) - San Jose has been awful ever since Scotty Gomez showed up, would be a nice fit
-Rob Scuderi (LAK) - LA off to horrible start, if it continues what better rental is there on the blueline?
-Alex Semin (CAR) - Carolina looks like they will contend so I doubt he's available
-Steve Sullivan (PHX) - Could play Recchi role in 2013
I put Clowe in there just so I could take a shot at Scott Gomez.

Here's a refresher on what Chia did back in 2011:
1. Chris Kelly for a 2nd round pick (Kelly had one year remaining at a cheap $2.125M cap hit which added to his value)
2. Tomas Kaberle for a 1st, Conditional 2nd, and Joe Colborne
3. Peverley and Valabik were acquired for Wheeler and Stuart

If you remember, all three of these deals were completed well in advance of the trading deadline.

Last year he only acquired depth and all on deadline day and the team fizzled out in the first round. Rolston, Mottau, and Zanon were acquired for the sum of Kampfer, Riendeau, and Cantin. No picks were dealt.

So what's he going to do this year? Emulate 2011 or 2012? I'd say it'd be closer to 2011. The trouble with the lockout is about the only team you can rule out of the playoffs at this point is Columbus so teams aren't chomping at the bit to sell off pieces.

Of the guys listed above, here's how I'd rank them weighted towards teams more likely to be sellers:
1. Iginla
2. Regehr
3. Ryder
4. Hejduk
5. Hainsey

Section 311 is boldly projecting two of these players and a third depth acquisition for Chia in 2013. Hejduk or Ryder would be the Chris Bourque replacement for the 3rd line/2nd PP or an injury replacement if one of the other top 8 guys goes down. Iginla would create some competition in the top 6 which would be healthy. Regehr or Hainsey would be solid depth to replace an inevitable injury to one of the top 6 on the blueline and would also create healthy competition when all 7 were healthy.

What will these guys cost?
First, highly doubtful Chia trades anyone from the roster (To assclown talk-show callers out there: no, we would not receive anything for Chris Bourque. They got him for Zach Hamill which is only slightly more than a bag of pucks and his performance on the ice so far doesn't have pro scouts drooling. You'll just have to trust me on this). Only roster player scenario I see would be Khudobin and this assumes that he puts up great numbers in fill-in duty and that the transaction was completed on deadline day itself (with the team comfortably in playoff position) because Rask needs to be escorted along to the playoffs with days off. If Khudobin performs well this season, Chia will have difficulty affording to bring both he and Rask back for next year and he has Sveddy Balls and PK Jr. in the system.

So, using history as a guide, Ryder/Hejduk would be similar to the Kelly deal. Iginla would be similar to the Kaberle deal (Kaberle had a lot higher stock back then remember). Regehr/Hainsey is likely somewhere in between because demand will be higher for blueliners and bidding wars are more likely.

Another Chia favorite is the old man transaction. Recchi and Pandolfo for example. I don't think "all-the-way Jay**" is projected for playoff minutes. Hejduk fits that mold as would Stevie Sullivan or even Jaromir Jagr. Don't think Chia would want Jagr's personality in the mix though.

So there's your 2013 Chiarelli predictions. We'll see how they pan out, but there is no reason not to mortgage the future with picks and prospects to make a run at it this year. The only thing that should derail a spending spree a la 2011 would be a catastrophic injury: Chara, Bergy, or Rask.

**Name we gave Jay Pandolfo on NHL '99 when EA Sports blessed him with some good video game speed.Minnesotahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05972531878749040742noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-885962108743979309.post-53786023451728326332013-02-01T19:04:00.000-05:002013-02-01T19:04:46.813-05:00B's get smoked, 7-4The Bruins got stampeded last night by Buffalo, 7-4

Yeah, that "fight" between Scott & Thornton was kind of hard to watch. Scott's got some 6 inches on Thornton, I was a little surprised - I thought McQuaid would take him on, but Scott's such a massive goon, I think he ended up skating 7 shifts for a total of about 4 minutes. He even had a breakaway, couldn't remember how to shoot it and Rask made the save.

Vanek just owns us. What makes me rage against Vanek is that he is Blake Wheeler's favorite player. Wheels models his game after Vanek, apparently. So the rage I feel for Wheels gets transferred to Vanek.

The great Zach Hamill was just traded from the Caps to the Panthers for a jar of salsa and some stale chips

I think my guess that Chris Bourque wouldn't last more than 5 games nearly came true. I'm not anti-Chris Bourque, I just think he was a bad fit for that line, no chemistry there. He's too small for 4th line duty. The fans would love him to succeed, which makes watching him not do well make you wince a bit when he's out of position or coughs up the puck or whiffs on an empty-netter.

Wouldn't it be something though if Chara got his rage on during the Feb 10th game vs. Buffalo and turned Scott's face into a dish of lo mein?

What about Lindy Ruff there, calling time out with 13 seconds left. What a dick move.

Instead of showing goofy people dancing to songs on the jumbotron, how about showing the above video of Sabres coach Lindy Ruff getting bitched by Bruins president Cam Neely?

Had some static in the section last night as some waif was standing too much and started to sass us when we told her it was okay to sit down.

I give Chris Bourque 4 or 5 more games before he's a healthy scratch. I'm sure he has some sort of skill, but he's a bit small. I dunno, he's Marchand-size but I don't see him cracking the lineup every night. He missed an empty-netter at the end. Also, a quiet night for Hamilton, I guess that means he didn't screw up, he put a few shots on.

Lootch was gassed by the end of the anthem. He had to've put on, what, 15 lbs of whale blubber during the off-season? But Horton & Krejci looked good, timing was a half-second off for everyone, legs of concrete for at least the first period, but things just started to click by the end.

Back-to-back fights, a la the Stars game, Rupp vs. Thornton and Bickel vs. Soupy. Soupy throws his punches so hard he ends up twisting himself into the rink with his own momentum. Rupp vs. Thornton was a pretty even match despite Rupp having 3 or 4 inches on Thornton. Thornton compensated with several jersey-jabs, two of which connected.

Boychuk goal on Bergy screen, don't think Lundqvist saw it.

Brandon Prust plays for MTL now, should be good, as MTL struggles to toughen up their team, yet they're so bad they even lost to TOR last night. MTL is sad these days. Not complaining here.

Paille had a good game last night, had a burr in his saddle or something, I dunno. Skating with speed and purpose. Too bad he can't finish.

Torts & Schoenfeld as Rangers coaches, I wonder which one shouts louder and more often?

Most of 311 won't make it, something about the game being sold out before I could even log on. The folks, they love the free shit. New composition interface here at blogger to write substandard posts. Things will look better while having the same horrible content.

Before the hockey content, lemme just say that the following things must come to an end:

Anything to do with zombies

Anything to do with vampires

Anything that suggests that nerds are cool

People who laugh at the "jokes" on The Big Bang Theory. If you're laughing at anything having to do with quantum anything, you're a shithead.

"having said that" and "that being said"

Gresh and Zo. How much coke does Zo do before each show/game? he's the real reason why Gil Santos is retiring.

Fred Toucher trying to talk anything about sports. And fer chrissake, how about a caged death match between Toucher and Wallach? It's pretty obvious they hate each other. Ratings gold right there.

On with the show. seriously, what's the deal with Tim Thomas? He's been playing hockey all his life, apparently loves the game, then decides to take a year off in the prime of his career? Ship him off to the Avs where he can work on his Doomsday Prepper water filtration devices.

Bruins aren't mailing us season ticket holders any tickets or packages that play "zombie nation" when we open the box. We have to print out our tickets from online. I should get a credit for that, yah?

So yeah, I'm getting 3% APR on my balance along with a frozen ticket price for next season (worth bucks there, esp. if they're good this year).

This post sucks but stay tuned for later this week where I offer my terrible predictions/projections for the season.

Laviolette. Tortorella. What do they have in common? All Massachusetts boys who had to suffer thru - either by personal experience (Milbury) or by being a spectator - the destruction of Cam Neely's career via the arrogant, dirty ways ("Professor of Goonism") of the Penguins organization. So it's no surprise that these 3 guys have recently called out the Pens regarding Crosby et al. whining and cheap-shotting and all that noise. They were raised on the 70s and 80s Bruins - teams that hung 7 goals on you, then beat you up. That is the blueprint (with Neely as the culmination of this design) from which hockey should be played.

If we play Ottawa, I hope they show replays over and over of Neely's spin-o-rama goal from back when Ottawa was a first-year expansion team. Corvo was in today, and even if he makes mistakes that everyone else would make, or if the puck just happens to bounce badly while he's on the ice, I blame him. Because I can.

Row 9 pedo was shown in the stands during the Islander game. He was incognito. He was carting around his sign like it's Linus' blanket. Actually, Jack Edwards made a Linus/blanket reference during the game with one of Turco's saves. It didn't make sense.

Chris Kelly should win the 7th player award. Seguin will probably win it because of the teen girls stuffing the ballot box, the high-pitched screams/shrieks as he thanks his girlfriend, but it should really go to Kelly. Anchoring the 3rd line, putting up 20 goals, not sucking - c'mon, folks. Chris Kelly for 7th player. You know I'm right.

Watching Soupy fight is tough. He usually just spins his opponent around, it's like they're going to drill right into the ice. Maybe it's a tactic, to get them dizzy.

Went to the DCU center to see BC beat UMD, 4-0 last weekend. Amazing how BC fans can't find the time to drive 45 minutes and watch their team play in the frozen four. The place was empty. Now it's nearly double that. Plus, I get a signed stick "of my choice" in a few weeks. Probably end up with Joe Corvo, in which case I will burn it, videotape it, youtube that bitch up, it goes viral, and I profit from my rage. I thought he was on the NHL Network?

Wait. Why aren't they starting Mottau?

Wow, Lane McDermid taking on Mike Rupp on his 1st shift. That takes some brass balls there. Rupp's no weenie, the dude's 6'-5" and probably 400 lbs. And McDermid fared pretty good in the fight, hung on, got some punches in. I wasn't expecting that. But Lootch's beatdown of Prust was fun. I'm not sure if I hate the Rangers or just completely indifferent. I look at a team/franchise that is comprised of perennial chokers. I just think they'll choke again just like every other year (except '94).

Y'know, there's a reason Mark Mowers is in last place on the NESN game pool there. It's cuz he sucks. Last night, he got the 2nd assist on the Parise goal. I think he was a -2 and Cload let him sit on the bench for awhile. Time to bring in the local boy. Mottau didn't look completely retahded the other day, I say let him get quality minutes vs. the Isles and see how bad it goes. Then never look back. There is a reason that Corvo's been traded about 40 times in the past 2 years. For your consideration: When Corvo's TOI is > 23 minutes, the Bruins are 0-2. When his TOI is > 22 minutes, the Bruins are 3-5. NOW, if his TOI is limited to 16 minutes or less, we are faring much better: The Bruins are 9-3. As a matter of fact, if we can keep Corvo limited to a TOI of 18 minutes or less, the Bruins are 18-5. Dunno about you, but I like them odds - I'm thinking if we can keep his TOI around 0 minutes or less, we'll be undefeated for the rest of the year.

Rolston still looks a step behind, but now he's playing the role of Old Guy on the Bergy/Marchand line, previously inhabited by Recchi. Now that he actually has something to play for, playing for a team that might actually do something. He's in his early/mid-30's and I don't know why we got him (depth). I would have preferred a different local guy for a d-man, say, y'know, Keith Yandle, or something. Also, this trade had me hoping that Corvo was gone, but when TSN finally posted it and that we traded Vinny Riendeau, I was crestfallen. Trade Deadline Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Recchis

Greg Zanon, a stout d-man from the Wild. Originally drafted by Ottawa (hmmm...). 5-11, blocks more shots than (joke). Looks like this year's answer to Bruins great Allen Pedersen. Here is a list of some of the players selected in the 2007 draft AFTER Zach Hamill (8th pick overall). I remember when he was drafted, they compared his game to Joe Sakic's. Wow.

Logan Couture, Brandon Sutter, Lars Eller, Kevin Shattenkirk, Max Pacioretty, David Perron, P.K. Subban, T.J. Galiardi, Wayne Simmonds, Jamie Benn. That's right, Jamie fuckin' Benn in the friggin 5th round. Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Past two games he's tried to show a little more jam in his game, but he's plays a small game and is not heavy on the puck. He's like Krejci, minus everything.

the Joe Corvo experiment needs to come to an end now. He needs to be euthanized. He's useless at the point, so useless that we're using Pevs at the point, and that's apparently an upgrade from Corv-blow. Sure, he scored today, but that was all Marchand getting into MAF's way.

speaking of Marc-Andre Fleury - what's up with this guy? Everyone thinks he's hot shit, and the only reason he's good is because he plays for the Penguins. How many games has he stolen for them? Probably zero. Ever hear that thing from 24/7 when he tries to talk shit to the players? No one sounds tough speaking french or with a french accent. It's like Phil Jackson. Is he really that good a coach, or just happened to coach 2 of the best players to play in the NBA (Kobe & Jordan).

Bruins are now 1-2-0 since Thomas-gate.

oh, okay, Deryk Engelland elbows Krejci high, gets no call while Krejci is on one knee trying to collect his bearings, but Peverley gets called for a "slash" on Malkin 8 seconds later.

Ben-wa Balls Pouliot has been returning to his former self, probably because of the Horton injury - plus he has to skate with Hamill, which would bring down even Gretzky's game.

a fair amount of Penguins fans in the crowd - hard to spot them because of similar colors, but they all had their frontrunner jerseys on (Crosby), plus some of them defiantly wearing the Pittsburgh Steelers garb, too.

Ironic that the B's played the Whale on Wednesday - February 2 - not many Whaler fans in the building that game, most saw their shadow in the morning and then ran back into their basements - 6 more weeks of winter.

Morale Officerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17440304871278516859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-885962108743979309.post-77811853254387742652011-12-04T17:29:00.003-05:002011-12-10T10:41:36.853-05:00Corvo-based RageB's have lost 2 straight, with, as the Globe reported, suckbag Joe Corvo being on the ice for the last 3 goals let up.

Weird to see Joe Corvo drop 'em vs. Joey Crabb. Crabb hid behind his visor and Corvo wanted nothing to do with the fight. Corvo only fights chicks anyway. Or chicks with dicks, depending on whose story you believe.

The B's need more of that scary puck possession game like they played against Toronto, holding it into the zone for 2 minutes while the Marlies tried to figure out what's going on.

The Joe Corvo Suck Express has left the station, get on board with it - Fluto & Friends have been shitting on him, as they should have. Remember, 311 knew Corvo sucked right away.

Speaking of sucky, underperforming defensemen, Kaberle was traded to the Habs, which makes it more appropriate for us to boo him with impunity.

Paille was knocked out by Krys Barch with a weird check the other night. Soup & Thornton both tossed their mitts and Thornton ended up doing the dirty work. Boychuk had to take his medicine vs. Jack Skille and pretty much won that fight. Boyfuck wears a visor though...Paille is concussed and Caron will play vs. the Blue Jackets.

I heard "Shakedown Street" on the organ during intermission last week, what is up with that? That album cover mesmerized me for hours as a kid.

Fan of the game - have I complained about this yet? where some parent thrusts their month-old toddler in front of the camera so it can win a free pizza that it can't even yet? My guess is the Ice Chicks got one of them weedwacker blenders like you see at Buffett shows, puree the pizza, and spoon-force-feed the kid. So anyone wanting a free Pizzeria Uno pizza, bring your toddler kid to the game, have it do something innocent & kidlike, crowd goes "awwww" and boom, free pizza.

Nothing to report here with Seguingate, everyone thinks the dude is out carousing but c'mon, the plane landed at 2AM in the 'Peg, it was apparently 5 deg F out there, maybe he got shnockered in the hotel room but I don't think a gal was involved.

Morale Officerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17440304871278516859noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-885962108743979309.post-55846194255250712952011-11-19T13:37:00.003-05:002011-11-19T13:59:27.654-05:00B's Keep Pounding AssB's won the other night in a horrendously ugly matchup w/ the Blue Jackets, 2-1 (SO).

At the center of all things wrong in the world is none other than Bruins defenseman Joe Corvo. Every night this guy brings anywhere between 5 and 7 metric ass-tons of suckage to the rink. And not too far behind him is Kampfer. The tonnage of suckage he brings is still in its infancy, but he's done some weird things out there. Plus, he just gets torched all the time.

Speaking of Kampfer, you know this guy's a trouble magnet, right? Univ of Michigan, okay, and he's been assaulted TWICE.

Kampfer delivers a clean hit and some dude takes exception. The "history" the announcers are referring to is the attack he experienced earlier in the year at the hands of some Univ of Michigan football players. Also, this

Ben wa Pouliot finally gets off the schnide by scoring a goal. Rang iron all night, weird how that happens. Chara almost knocked the net off its moorings, as did Horton with a wicked wrista to the crossbah.

Zach Hamill threw a hit last week. Piped up one 311'er, "zach hamill, hitting someone in the corner. weak." And I said, "that was more Dorothy Hamill". Don't know if that was original joke, but there ya go.

Kessel still in scoring lead - what IS this shit?

@msavvy91 still predicting Bruins wins and goal scorers. It's a little creepy. I hope he overtakes Phil Kessel for the league lead in goals, points, etc. because Phil's shitty mug is still all over nhl.com. It's getting to the point, especially with the way that line has been gellin' (so much so, I'm wellin') that it really looks like they can't be stopped. I mean, Seguin missed, what 2 or 3 empty nets the other night? I mean this line is sick, and they're the second line. Horton is starting to wake up and skate with more purpose (though he missed 2 gimmes last night) and Lootch is sucking less. The KHL line had one early even-strength shift last night where they had sole puck possession in the offensive zone for what felt like I dunno, a week and a half, which eventually led to the Boychuk goal.

Who, what, huh? Mark Mowers on The Instigators, folks. The nadir of NESN programming? You decide.

I went to a Hahvid Bah after the game last night. There was equations 'n shit on the walls. Dunno if they showed it on TV, but I got pretty excited - I wanted to see Chris Neil clobber Joe Corvo. You see, each year, Vf311 focuses it's irrational hate-death ray on a Bruin player who kind of sucks. This year, it's Joe Corvo. Check the Google - back in 2002 or so, when he was a punk with the Monarchs, he attacked some chick in a bar and had to do community service and stuff. Rumor has it, he actually attacked a tranny. I dunno, I wasn't there.

Guy who sat next to me on Tuesday, I think he shat himself during pre-game and forgot to clean up.

Section 322 tried to start the wave Tuesday. Mowers was Dave Lewis' cabana boy back the day when the B's kinda sucked. Those were the dark days, with Dave Scatchard and Brad Isbister.

No real great analysis about the latest team play. I mean, I think they gotta push thru it and hopefully they find their way before it's too late. We'll see what happens against the Laffs in Toronto on Saturday. It wasn't that bad of a game, just wanted to see some violence, seeing as how our local team has decided to not really play with much passion. Well, the farm club kind of suffers from this as well. I will say the boards are loud at "The Dunk", and that plexiglas sounds real brittle as each slap shot brings with it the possibility of the glass shattering. Time to rebuild The Dunk, yah? Lots of crotchfruit there as well, going mad batshit over the SpongeBob Squarepants theme.

Look, Joe Corvo kind of sucks. Actually, not kind of. He just sucks...he's making me wish for the days of Kaberle. He constantly gets burned out there...and that booming shot that I thought we were getting really hasn't appeared. Too often has 311 commented, "oh, Corvo just got bitched on that play"... Then again, the rest of the team hasn't shown up yet either. Also, Corvo looks like Judge Doom from Roger Rabbit, y'know, after he goes nuts and attacked Roger with the cartoon saw & cartoon sledgehammer. The B's looked out of step, though.

Lootch still looks lost out there like he did in the playoffs. Not many shifts where he's skating with purpose. Just standing there waiting for something to happen. Horton still looks a bit out of sorts, too. Hopefully just early season cobwebs.

Marchand & Seguin, however, have been flying all over the ice. Seguin's skating with the confidence of someone who has had their ice time increased from say 10 minutes a game to about 18-20 minutes a game.

Don't look now, but Phil Kessel is leading the league in goals and points. It's still early, but enough to make you taste the bile when you check out the league leaders page on NHL.com.

Bruins made their probable final public appearance with the Cup yesterday as they took it to Gillette Stadium to pump up the crowd and the Patriots. Horton sprayed some Garden rink love on to the logo at midfield. The Mayor was there, "unreal", he texted. Patriots won...

Marchand performed a nice takedown of Dominic Moore. I was hoping it would come to blows, with Marchand pounding Moore's face right into the rink surface. Alas, 'twas not to be. Linesmen stepped in and prevented Marchand from tenderizing Moore's face with his fists.

How effin sweet was that pass from Jesus Seguin to Marchand for Marchand's 1st goal of the season. Good stuff. Brad Marchand had plenty of looks and was skating around everyone after awhile. After the B's went ahead, it kind of became garbage time then...the Islanders just started to look like your father's thursday midnight beer league hockey.

Last night's duds: Tim Thomas had some nice saves and 1 goal he had no chance on, but 3 goals on 13 shots doesn't look so hot. Lucic looked slow & lost. I really think Lootch is going to have an off-year. Like, epic awful, say 10 goals, 4th line duty, everything like that. Plus, he recently was the subject of a Margery Eagan "tsk tsk" article in the Herald the other day. Also, anyone who does the "do you know who I am" thing for real has it coming to them.

Some dude tried to beat up Krejci last night, Krejci turtled kind of to avoid injury, then I heard something about the guy getting 2 minutes for instigating with a visor on, which is a penalty I've not heard before.

WHO in my section keeps rippin' ass?

Matt Kalman is everywhere. If there's someone in the media who has cashed in on the B's success, it's this guy. Every day, he writes an article on each player that pops up somewhere. It's either great hustle or a little scary. Personally, I think he's obsessed, but he's getting paid, so what do I know. I half-ass this blog for free. It's less than half-ass - a fraction of half-ass. It's, like, eighth-ass.

People from Halifax, NS are called "Haligonians"

Ryan Spooner, going back to the OHL.

Morale Officerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17440304871278516859noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-885962108743979309.post-39302716679863736532011-09-07T18:04:00.003-04:002011-09-07T18:37:16.988-04:00Horrible

Today, a group of professional hockey players in the KHL died in a plane crash. Among the victims were sniper Pavol Demitra and former Bruin Brad McCrimmon. Probert, Boogaard, Belak, and now this. Of course, Ference is the commie Bruin, so it's fitting that he gets the Cup on Labor Day. Workers of the world, unite! Of course, he celebrates by paying homage to Mao by riding his bike all over town...then organized a flash mob of people wearing the same shirt to march down the street, crowding around him. Totalitarianism, anyone? All that was missing was a huge missile for the crowd to walk along, maybe a building-sized picture of Ference's profile.

Are we gonna sign Marchand, or what?

Just warming up, kids. We raise the banner in 4 weeks. We start training camp in 8 days. And hopefully, the blog posts will improve.

Morale Officerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17440304871278516859noreply@blogger.com0
